Big Corporations Behind Common Core
The Common Core claims to be "state-led". Actually, the people who are behind these "state standards" are really big corporations and they're the ones benefiting from the Common Core.
Take for example, Bill Gates. Why did he invest $200 million into the CCSSI? Is it because it is rigorous? NO. Is it because it's state-led? NO. By the way, he cannot prove that it is state-led and rigorous. One thing he knows about the Common Core is that he and Microsoft can earn millions of $$$ from it. Think of this, Common Core uses lots of technology. And lots of technology are software. And which corporation is the largest software maker in the world? Microsoft. And who earns money and co-founded Microsoft? Bill Gates. So he really invested money into the Common Core so he could earn lots of money. LOTS of $$$. As Bill Gates said about the Common Core at the National Conference of State Legislatures, he said that the Common Core will "unleash a powerful market of people providing services for better teaching. For the first time there will be a large uniform base of customers looking at using products that can help every kid learn and every teacher get better."
If you don't think that's bad, did you know that the corporations behind the Common Core are getting money for each test you child takes?! Each test your child takes will give the corporations $30! And the tests are intentionally made to be difficult. Do you know why? That way, your child will have to retake the test and the corporations will get more money. The Common Core isn't created to educate your child. It's so that those companies behind Common Core can get more money!
